Common surface cracking
Concrete naturally shrinks as it cures, and some hairline cracking is normal. Wider cracks, cracks that keep growing, or cracks with one side higher than the other can point to issues such as soil movement or drainage.
Uneven surfaces
Panels that have sunk or lifted can create trip hazards and direct water in the wrong direction. The cause, such as soil, roots or water, affects which fix is appropriate.
Damage assessment
During an estimate we look at the extent of the damage, how the surface drains, and the overall condition of the slab. Repairs on this page refer to residential flatwork such as driveways, sidewalks, patios and walkways. Foundation or structural concerns should be evaluated by an appropriate professional.
Repair or replacement?
Repair may be reasonable when damage is limited to a small area. Replacement may make more sense when:
- Cracking is widespread across the surface.
- Sections have settled significantly or repeatedly.
- The surface is crumbling or scaling over large areas.
- Previous repairs have not held up.
Service area: concrete repair are available to homeowners in Abilene and across the Dallas–Fort Worth region.
